Default Great event

WOW!!!! What awesome time! For those who decided not to make it becuase of weather sure missed out on a great Rally. We ended up with a smaller group than last year but the run itself became quite challenging and muddy. The entire route was 87 miles long. Our check point sponsers did a great job and out did themselves with what they came up with for thier stops. We had some carnage this year that was quite substantial, our film crew blew the engine in the first big mud hole when the engine sucked water, a new toyota got some bad spotting from another truck and ended up bashing in his grill on the guys reaer trailer hitch, another rig snapped his tranny shaft as the ride was over. Bummer for those who had damage but they had great spirits regardless and continued on with the day and evening. After the ride portion was over the entire group headed to the title sponsers venue where the evening continued. The place looked great as the group rolled in after a hard day of wheeling and playing in the rain and mud. What a spread! Oasis provided the grub and it was fantastic! The band was RPM, I have to say this is a fantastic band and they rocked the house playing 60's - 90's rock and roll. We had people dancing and having a great time, evening some of the cranky teenagers were dancing! The silent auction went well and there were some good bidding wars on a few of the items. With full bellies, muddy clothes, tired folks and kids ready for a good nights sleep we wrapped up about 11pm. Good fun had by all! Thanks to all our sponsers that made this years event possible, a special thanks to Gene's Chrysler for being our headline sponsor and opening thier dealership to us and the March of Dime's for this event. Thanks to the North Pole Lion's for bringing the vision center out and doing free vision screening. I also want to thank all the members of the recovery crews and check point crews that worked tirelessly in the wet rainy weather all day. And I have to put out a BIG thank you to Stacy, Matt, and Eunah for setting up the finish line and getting the after party ready for us as we were out playing. You guys did a fantastic job and I think you have set the bar for what the standard and quality of how the after party should be done! Great Job to everyone! And ofcourse thank you to all that braved the weather and participated and supported the March of Dime's! We'll see you next year! GOOOOOO LIONSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
