You have seen my Jeep and I have almost the same H.P and do have more tourque, but.... your V8 has way more umph to it. Yes mine is a 4.2 vs 4.0. Take the $1k you will spend and put it else where. You could buy a F.I complete SBC w/harness and comp for that, I have also seen LT1 Eng/trans combo's go for $1500. Mike Just keep what you have. You will LOVE it the way it is.

I had a call from the voice of reason and will be stepping away from this deal. There are more interesting and practical ways of moving around the same amount of $ that this will take.
Thanks for the input.

Hmmm now what to put in that hole in the backyard...

No way in hell.

The 3.7 in the Liberty is a LOT better engine for a Jeep.

The 3.8 in my (the Wife's) 08 Rubi is a gutlesss wonder.
There are SO many electronics on that thing, I wouldn't dream of using it.

Just my 2 cents...

Mike!!!! I was actually awaiting you response. I think the money will be well better spent on just fuel injecting the 304 or finding a Chevy alternative. I did look into a Ford alternative but nothing seemed to turn up....

Holy cow man work with the engine you got. Leave it alone and improve on it. You are never going to get to go enjoy anything if you are always in the garage trying to improve or replace something that works just fine. Fix what little issues you have now and then go and enjoy it. Don't swap stuff in or out cause all that will do is give you a new list of issues.

Well for one it wasn't my idea or my engine, but I'd be the one doing a lot of the work on it. The carb sucks up here. Driving mine right now is like having half power the way it's set up right now. As it sits there is nothing on the front of the engine. all that is left is heads intake carb basicly. Ya know it only takes a few times breaking down in a row to start calling something a rolling piece of stuff... Plus you should be incouraging me after all the time I've put into yours so you could enjoy it.
