[QUOTE=Stumblinman;964]Allowing someone to drive your Jeep is more than handing over the keys. You have to explain and demonstrate how to start it, turn it,what lights to ignore, where to park and how fast to go also making sure to point out where the fire extingisher is located incase of fire.

You can get something rigged up that looks like a death trap or it's going to fall off any second and then fix it, but find out that the rig job had altered the original system in such a way that by fixing it you end up replacing a bunch of junk that used to work fine when rigged.
Point... I had a carb return spring hooked to my wire pigtail coming from the distrubutor. So I got a bracket to fix this after months of having it just hooked to some wires for a quick rig job. After the fix I lost fire. The wires on the distrib looked good so I retraced and tested all my ignition wires and thought the module was bad so replaced that but the pigtails where different so had to swap and splice new ones in and test some more and wonder why the coil fired when i turned the key off then figured out I'd test the distrib which was bad..... even though probly a year or so old.. Probly would have been fine if I just kept my rig job though..

Even as a jeep owner I get a laugh out of this one. I remember in high school some little rich girl got daddy to buy her a decked out jeep to go play in the mud pits back home with the boys. She figured out how to shift the transfer case into 4hi but didn't know about locking hubs. We spent a good two hours laughing at her and he friends trying to get that thing out. It wasn't until an Illinois state trooper dropped by the field and told them that they realized what was wrong.

What I hate about Jeeps is that if you live long enough, you can never own just one.
