tire repair if it has equal?

Has anyone had any adverse effects from plugging a hole in a tire if it's balanced with Equal?

I have a small, slow puncture leak in one of my tires and I wanna plug it but was thinking the equal may stick to it and mess up the balancing.

if its real small don't plug it , i say patch it and see what happens
